In ship engineering, this term refers to crew members working below deck or in the engine room. The ship is equipped with various engines, electrical devices and propulsion systems. The job of the engine crew is to keep them in good condition.
The work of the engineering department is the inspection, maintenance and repair of all engines on the ship. These engines include the main engine, which is clearly the heart of the ship. In addition, they are responsible for producing energy, air conditioning, sewer systems, water purification systems, lighting and electrical systems and ship cooling devices.
The crew or personnel in the engineering department or on board are listed below
